Growth the regulator would sign

A lender growing faster than its controls. We rebuilt the plan so the growth story and the compliance story were the same story.

Dappled light on a warm textured wall

The lender had doubled its book in three years, and its supervisor had noticed. The growth plan and the risk framework read like documents from two different companies — one written for investors, one for inspectors, neither entirely true.

One story, told once

We rebuilt the plan so that every growth assumption carried its control cost, and every control carried its effect on growth. The exercise was less about compliance than honesty: a plan the board could defend line by line in either room, without translation.

The quiet outcome

The licence review closed without conditions, and the expansion into two new products proceeded on the revised plan. The chief executive kept the combined document as the operating plan — the first time, in his words, that the firm had only one strategy.
